  Amar Vilas is located only 600 metres from the Taj Mahal. The classical architecture 
  of the hotel is complemented by the elaborate Mughal gardens, terraced lawns,

  The Oberoi Amarvilas is the only hotel with direct, uninterrupted views of the 
  Taj Mahal. The hotel lies just 600 metres from one of the greatest wonders of 
  the world. The Oberoi Amarvilas opened in January 2001 and is breathtakingly 
  luxurious hotel. There is only one way to truly experience the Taj Mahal. The 
  challenge for Bombay-based architect Prabhat Patki was to create a haven that 
  would reflect the exotic grandeur of the monuments around them. The aim was 
  to provide guests with every modern service in luxury and comfort, while adhering 
  to strict planning laws.He succeeded. Straight out of an Indian fairytale, The 
  Oberoi Amarvilas - Sanskrit for Eternal Haven - is set among lush 
  and serene Mughal-inspired pools and terraced gardens. Ancient and traditional 
  Persian and Moorish influences combine with the very best in modern Indian interior

Rooms and Suites
  All 105 guest rooms and seven suites have a view of the Taj Mahal. All guests 
  receive
  complimentary two-way transfers from the airport or railway station. All rooms 
  and suites feature a separate walk-in closet with electronic safe, colour satellite 
  TV, DVD/CD player. Minibar and a facility to make tea and coffee. Beautiful 
  marble bathrooms feature both a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle with deluxe 
  toiletries. Sixty superior deluxe rooms have their own private open-air terraces. 
  Four Executive Suites have a separate living room and bedroom. The two luxury 
  Suites feature in addition, a separate living/dining room with butlers 
  pantry and private open air terrace. The bathroom overlooks the Taj Mahal.The 
  regal Kohinoor Suite has separate living and dining rooms. There is a private 
  study. The

  bedroom has a separate dressing area with walk-in closet. Here too the bathroom

  Open 6.30 am to 10.30pm
  Bellevue, the main hotel restaurant, is open all day from 6.30am to 10.30pm. 
  Modern Asian-Mediterranean fusion cuisine is served here. The menu features 
  soups, salads, grilled meats, pastas and desserts. Special childrens menus 
  are available during the day. 
  
  
2. Esphahan
  Open 7pm to 10.30pm
  The more formal Esphahan, with richly detailed interiors, serves traditional 
  Indian dishes.
  Esphahan is open for dinner only. Theme evenings feature live performances of 
  traditional Sitar and Tabla music.

  Open 11am to 11pm
  For an aperitif or a late digestif guests choose the teak-panelled Bar. The 
  bar features an antique map of the Taj Mahal and a magnificent view of the Taj

Location & Access
  Location: The Oberoi Amarvilâs is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, 
  one of the largest states in India. The resort is located at a distance of 600 
  meters from the Taj Mahal and approximately 10 minutes from the city centre. 
  The hotel has been designed to give guests breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal 
  from each of its 105 guest rooms and suites.
  
  
By air: Agras Kheria Airport is located 9km from The Oberoi Amarvilâs 
  and is approximately a 25 minutes drive. Indian Airlines operate flights from 
  Delhi on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Oberoi Air Charter may also be arranged 
  for this journey. It takes approximately forty-five minutes to fly from New 
  Delhi to Kheria airport.
  
  
By rail: The main railway station at Agra is the Agra Cantonment station. 
  The journey takes approximately two hours from New Delhi by Shatabdi Express 
  and, three hours by Taj Express. These trains halt at Agra Cantonment railway 
  station, which is 8kms from The Oberoi Amarvilâs. The drive to the hotel 
  takes approximately 20 minutes in the hotels chauffeur driven cars.
  
  
By road: The Delhi-Agra highway (National Highway 2) via Mathura joins 
  New Delhi and Agra and is the best route for those wanting to drive from New 
  Delhi to Agra. The drive of 190kms takes approximately four hours. There are 
  an adequate number of refueling stations and restaurants on the way.

AIR: All the four major cities- New Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai 
  have direct international air connections. Domestic airlines operate between 
  cities. And, the domestic carrier, Indian Airlines, flies into the neighbouring 
  countries. 
  
  
SEA: Mumbai, which used to be the main point of entry into India, still 
  receives sea travellers via passenger ships and freighters.
  
  
ROAD: Overland, there are several points of entry into India. For up-to-date 
  information on border crossing-points, contact Indian overseas missions or government 
  tourist information offices.
  
  
Immigration
  All visitors, except those from Nepal and Bhutan, must have valid passports 
  stamped with current visas. Visitors must register with the Foreigners 
  Regional Registration Office within 14 days of arrival. Your hotel will take 
  care of this service upon check-in. In any case, contact the nearest Indian 
  embassy or consulate in your home country before making your travel plans. All 
  Indian consular offices around the world issue visas. Business travellers should 
  apply for a multiple-entry business visa, which is valid for one year. Special
